☆★2025 Social Work and Sustainable Development: International Forum & The 2025 TASW Annual Conference Social Work and Sustainable Development: Strategies and Visions for Transformation! ☆★

The 2025 annual conference of the Taiwan Association of Social Workers has successfully wrapped up! 

This year, we celebrated Taiwan’s first anniversary of joining the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW). We were thrilled to host Dr. Rory Truell, IFSW Secretary-General, along with Professor Machiko Ohara, IFSW-Asia Pacific President, and Dr. Viktor Virág, IFSW-Asia Pacific Treasurer, who lent their valuable support to the events!

Highlights include an insightful visit to the Rerum Novarum Center, where Dr. Truell and Dr. Virág explored local services and collaborated with Indigenous communities.

The forum on March 21st sparked meaningful discussions about global social work practices and how we can create long-lasting, sustainable social change.

On March 22nd, the conference featured expert speakers, including Dr. Truell and Professor Machiko Ohara, who shared their perspectives on global social work and sustainability. The conference also showcased 17 oral presentations and 13 posters on diverse social work topics like child welfare, mental health, multiculturalism, and more. A special session on "The Stories of Taiwanese Social Workers" highlighted the professional journeys of Taiwanese social workers, emphasizing their commitment to sustainable development.
